Reading a church search profile that makes your heart sing is very exciting.  And there is an art to crafting a resume and cover letter that will turn heads.  You can have great skills and transferable experience, but If your resume and cover letter aren’t up to par, you might lose out on an opportunity to get invited for that coveted interview.

Sure, the Holy Spirit is in the process…at the same time, God expects that we take an active part in putting our best foot forward.  A solid resume will help get you in the door and strong interview skills will keep you moving forward through the process.  As a former diocesan transition minister, I have seen hundreds of resumes.  I will coach you as you put together a resume and cover letter that makes you shine and prepare you for an interview they will remember.

Your Resume is Your First Impression

Your Cover Letter, Resume and Office of Transition Ministry (OTM) Portfolio (Episcopal) or Mobility Papers (Lutheran) can make or break your consideration for a new position.  Diocesan Transition Ministers and Search Committees often receive many applications and only some will quickly rise to the top of the stack.  I will help you understand what is essential to include and tell your story, while keeping your resume concise and clean.

Ready, Set Interview

There is more to the art of interviewing well than quickly reviewing the search church’s profile and website.  I will coach you on how to develop your elevator speech and understand the key homework that you need to do prior to your interview.  What about that interview?  I show you how to answer both good and poorly worded questions in a way that will leave interviewers remembering you, and how to “show your stuff” when asked a “yes” or “no” question or even what feels like “trick” question.  And yes, a practice interview is included!

My Search and Interview coaching includes:
